FAQ & Rules

Awareness Understanding

Awareness for us means mindfulness and respectful interaction with oneself and others. It's about mutual support, respecting boundaries, and actively opposing discriminatory and thoughtless behavior. "To be aware" in German means "sich bewusst sein, sich informieren, für gewisse Problematiken sensibilisiert sein." An awareness concept aims to ensure that everyone can feel comfortable, for example, during an event. Therefore, during our festival, we will not tolerate any form of discriminatory behavior and aim to create a space where we can all feel as safe as possible. We are all collectively responsible for ensuring that everyone here feels comfortable! No one should have to experience discriminatory behavior, so let's all be "aware" together!

Awareness Team

On-site, there will be an Awareness Team put together by you (Hurrah!). You can recognize the Awareness Team by a symbol we will introduce on the festival's first day. You can approach them if you feel uncomfortable, have experienced or observed discriminatory behavior, and need support. If you don't see anyone, please go to the bar. There is a walkie-talkie there that can be used to contact the Awareness Team.

Arrival & Departure

TBD

By Car & Van

You can also come by car or van, but we prefer one of the more ecological options without a car :)! If you come by car or van, please park them one behind the other, as it may take some time to exit. Please remember that you should only move your vehicles when you are sober! In general, after intense partying and/or consuming alcohol, driving should be avoided.

Swimming: Lake

Need a cool-down? During the day, there will be a floor right by the lake. If you decide to go swimming, please ensure you only swim when you are in a state to take care of yourself and not pose a danger to yourself and/or others. It's best not to go into the water alone unless you are completely sober. And remember, the lake does not have lifeguards. After we close the floor, swimming is strictly prohibited. In the morning (and generally), please never swim alone!

Cash

Bring enough cash with you as there are no ATMs on the premises. Please do not bring bills over 50 euros. In case of a cash shortage, our team can act as a bank and provide money in exchange for PayPal transfers in an emergency. But it's best to bring enough cash with you! Also, as experienced Oi Suffis may remember, there has been a strong need for 50-cent coins for our unique Oitomaten (for newcomers: a modified gum vending machine with great prizes!) in recent years. If you want to play, please bring enough small change. This year, even more machines will accept 1 and 2 euro coins. So, it's worth collecting small changes in advance!

Photography & Recording

We all love pics – they help us relive our most beautiful moments. However, please be aware that at our festival, the primary focus should be making everyone feel comfortable and free. Sometimes, taking out your phone is inappropriate, and not everything you find beautiful necessarily wants to be photographed. Communication is key! And let's be honest: enjoying the moment is usually much more attractive, and our brains can capture pretty impressive images. There's one clear rule: no annoying 360° videos on the dance floor – that's where we dance! But we didn't expect anything else from you anyway.

Showers

This year, warm and cold showers will be at various locations (outdoors with privacy screens).

First Aid

Some wonderful people have informed us that they have experience in first aid and would be available on-site if needed. There will be no official medical team since we are only a private event. In case of doubt, we will rely on the good old 112 (emergency number). If you're unsure, please inform the bar or the Awareness Team!

Internet / Mobile Reception

We cannot guarantee sufficient internet reception on the premises, but during our visits, it was okay, depending on your network provider. It's best to take care of all important matters before your departure!

Lost & Found

If you lose or find something on the premises, please report it to the bar. We will store the found items until their owners can be identified.

Medications

Celebrating with chronic illnesses: If you rely on medications that don't fare well in the tent heat, we offer storage in our refrigerators. We are also happy to provide you with a quiet space where you can take your medications. Please bring a labeled container for storage to avoid mix-ups.

Menstruation

This year, there are toilets with running water. We will label some toilets as FLINTA*-only, where you will also find menstrual products that you are welcome to use and water bottles for rinsing menstrual cups. Please dispose of used menstrual products in the trash, not toilets!

Trash

We distribute trash bags throughout the site, which will be regularly emptied and replaced in containers. Please do not leave your trash lying around, but throw it in the trash bags. We collect glass separately at the bar. Cigarette butts are also trash and should not end up on the ground. To smokers: Feel free to bring small sealable containers, also known as pocket ashtrays!

Music

With your fantastic support, we will put together a great musical program! There will be open-air floors during the day until 10 PM, and then we will move the party to a large indoor floor - for the neighbors' sake! Additionally, there will be live concerts again. Timetables and line-ups with exact times will be available on-site later. Starting at 10 PM, there will also be some music outside at the bar through a small system - loud enough for a small dance and drinking!

Going Topless (OKF)

Casually going topless has been a cis*-male privilege in our society until today. Not only that, some people also refrain from going topless due to beauty standards and body normativity. Therefore, we expect everyone present to reflect on whether going topless is appropriate or if it's merely flaunting their own privileges in front of others. Do I want to swim/go to the sauna or go topless on the dance floor because it means freedom to me? For others, it can painfully remind them that they don't have this freedom. Therefore, we have concluded that it's okay in the sauna but not on the rest of the festival grounds. Keep an eye on the people around you and how they feel about your nudity. If you're unsure, ask!

Police (ei ei!)

If, against all expectations, the police are outside the entrance or at the fence, it would be great if you could refrain from providing information and, especially, do NOT invite them in. Just inform the bar, and they will notify us as the organizing crew. We want to speak with the police ourselves. Very important: We are a private event! And, as in every year, we are celebrating our birthdays ;) ...

Smoking

Since we wish everyone to feel comfortable on the indoor dance floor, we would appreciate it if it stayed filled with cigarette smoke. So, we would like to ask that you primarily use the outdoor area for smoking, especially at night. Please also remember to bring something for your cigarette butts: spread containers, film canisters, or Kinder Surprise egg containers work great. The environment will thank you! And so will the cleanup crews!!! Additionally, we ask for consideration when smoking - not everyone enjoys being enveloped in cigarette smoke.

Safer Space

There will be a place located on the main floor/main bar of the site that will serve as a Safer Space. Here, you can come to rest if you're not feeling well or need a retreat. There will be comfortable lighting, blankets, snacks, and drinks. The Awareness Team will regularly check the caravan and offer you the opportunity for a conversation/support. The Safer Space will be clearly marked with signs, so you will hopefully find it easily.

Shift Schedule

We are a participatory festival, and we rely on your support. Therefore, everyone should sign up for a shift in the schedule, which we will send you in a subsequent email - everyone should do at least one shift during the weekend. Please come reliably and perform your tasks conscientiously. Otherwise, we cannot handle the many small tasks. We ensure that the shifts are not too long and too exhausting. We will contact you again and provide you with information about your shifts.

Snitch

All Harry Potter fans already know this little winged ball, and everyone else can consult the internet. A Snitch is hidden on precisely one bottle of Secco again! Whoever finds this bottle will receive a gift at the bar. (Excluded are the bar shifts during their shift.)

Animals

Please leave your animals at home! We believe that the large number of people and the loud music would only cause unnecessary stress for the animals.

Table Tennis

For table tennis enthusiasts, please bring enough rackets and balls.

Toiletries

This year, there will be toilets with running water and compost toilets without running water. For the compost toilets, throwing sawdust after your bowel movement is essential. The toilets will be regularly cleaned and stocked with toilet paper. Please ensure that the toilet shift workers do not have too heavy a job, clean up after yourselves, and lift the seat if you don't want to sit down - but we would prefer if the toilet seat is consistently clean for everyone to sit on and use comfortably!

Food & Drinks

Drinking Water

There will be various spots with fresh water where you can refill your water bottles (it will be marked). Chilled water with and without carbonation will also be available at the bar for a reasonable price.

Breakfast

There will be a breakfast buffet in the morning. More tbg

Lunch/Dinner:

From Friday to Sunday evening, there will be alternating dishes from our large kitchen (vegan and gluten-free). This year, we will also provide a self-service table for fast food for late-night hunger. You will also find fruits and other snacks there. Most likely, there will be pizza available for a small extra donation.

Utensils

Feel free to bring your cutlery and dishes! However, there will also be dishes available on the premises this year. (Pro-tip: a large Tupperware container for muesli/soups! Pro-pro-tip: Think of your friends and bring two! ;)).

Drinks

We will offer a wide selection of drinks at fair prices, and to be honest, we also rely on income. Therefore, we kindly ask you to leave your own drinks at home and buy fresh and delicious drinks from us! We will send you a drink list with prices before the festival begins so you can take a look. We will not post/display price lists at the festival for legal reasons. The bar shifts will have an overview.

Kiosk

Snacks, festival supplies, and odds and ends you don't need can be found at the kiosk at the bar. But you should better bring your own tobacco, filters, and papers ;)

Workshops

There will be a wide range of activities, from fun to even more fun, including various innovative offerings. The exact workshop program with times and meeting points will be available on-site, and you will receive an overview of the offered workshops before the festival begins.

Campground

The campground is huge, so you are welcome to bring unnecessarily large tents. Camps with pavilions are optional and are not welcome, as there will be plenty of opportunities to chill and hang out on the grounds. We kindly ask you to refrain from playing music through speakers on the campground. We wish for a reasonably quiet camping area so everyone can get the rest.
